Breathe – The Wim Hof Method – a health app

The Wim Hof approach has been floating around many health forums and alternative health groups in the past decade. Since it’s founder was included in Netflix documentary series The Goop Lab, the beathing method has gained a lot of popularity in the wider community.

It’s all accessible on an easy-to-use app, with a small subscription to pay or use of limited features for free, I believe it is well-worth a look! Especially those who have been dealing with auto-immune dysfunction, rehabilitating an injury or recovering from sickness.

So is the Wim Hof Method actually worthwhile?
The science is starting to solidify, recent studies have proven the effect of slow and controlled breathing and breath hold, “the Wim Hof Method” on inflammation. The breathing technique is shown to actively tap into the sympathetic nervous system to control the body’s response to inflammation and pathogens. So, we can infer that the role of breathing techniques like Wim Hof are an effective supplementary tool to our rehab programs where inflammation is an issue. I’ve been practicing this often over the past 18 months and have noticed a significant change in the frequency in which I get sick and being able to reduce the time in which my sickness or injury can resolve.

Have a look out for The Wim Hof Method App on the app or play store or pop in to the many free Wim Hof guided sessions around Sydney, like the ones led by @Runday at Coogee/Bondi on a Sunday arvo.
